Default Ignition wiring and the darn Dropping resistor.

I have just noticed that the dropping resistor in my ignition circuit is not in circuit.
In fact the resistor is not in the car.

I am told I can do it via the starter motor solenoid is that correct?
Explains a few problems back in 92, and surprised to find the points still intact.

Its time to do the electronic conversion.

Just do the electronic conversion, and do it with an ignitor that DOESNT use a ballast resistor.

The ballast resistor is a silly SILLY idea.

I really should get around to re-writing my guide to using 21R-C/22R-E dissy, coil and ignitor to make 18R electronic ignition. It's definitely worth doing, and it's actually quite simple!
    ...... butt scratcher?!

Well here's how to wire up the 21R-C / 22R-E ignitor and coil

Cool I have a 21R dizzy and the ignitor you showed I will do it.

This site is cool you learn how to do stuff.

was going to say if you're dropping +12v thru your points you'd be burning em out/replacing em regularly!
unless you wanna stick to originality i'm with karl - go the electronic.
otherwise $242 seems alot for a ballast - go to the wreckers and grab one off a ke55 or something - all the thing does is drop +12v down to like +6v.
