    Default Battery condition Probe.

Toyota had this neat trick of putting a little lead probe inside the battery plug on number three or two cell.
The signal produced a nice voltage which turned off the OK monitor when the battery was fully charged or when the level was OK.
if the level went down or the voltage dropped below a percentage of 12 volts the damn red light flashes,
Long ago this probe wore out (all the lead went out of the pencil)

Anyone seen a probe in their nocturnal wrecker yard forraging, please advise.

CROWNS, CRESIDAS, MARK 11's and some celicas had ESP.

    Extra Stupid Prompting.

BEEP BEEP you are doing 110

FLASH FLASH your brake light is out

yeah I know someone just ran into me.

Why is it called an OK monitor when all is NOT OK.

I am still working on my oil level probe and the damn water washer level and radiator levels.

really great when you are night drifting around a corner and the water washer level light flashes and a huge RED NOT OK light comes on destroying your night vision..

    Hi,

I know the item you're describing. I didn't know your car had the full OK monitor with the battery condition etc - mine is the simple 3-unit one. Also I'm not sure it was in any Aussie cars.... I always assumed it was a JDM item.

You may be able to get another part from Toyota - assuming they're still in stock. I'll check my JDM EPC later - but this is for the Celica and not the Corona - so I can't be too certain if it's the same thing.

Got a pic of it for us to have a look at?

It's a JDM car River. No Corona GT's made here.

My Hardtop also has the large OK monitor. I won't find out if any of it works until the car arrives from Japan though.
