Do solexs stop u from sliding something in b/w the window and seal to unlock em?

I had no problems doing it in my T-18

As for the topic, in my T-18 i bought replacement new locks from repco and didnt bother about rekeying. In the end all the keys opened all the locks and started the car too anyway As for the bent lock, my T-18 was the same i just pulled it out enough to mount the lock nicely.

hm.. true.. but with my car always parked near me, a smashed window is loud... they'd probably smash the little window at the back door more likely...

solexes are fiddly because of the key design and all that, needs to go in a certain way and turned a certain way... the way i did it was i secured the lock tight so u can just shove the key in and turn it without worrying too much... however it's quite "permanent" the way it was..

hm.. as for a hook between the window.. yea true.. it's always that... damn car thieves...

Hey guys, I'm not too keen on the solex idea.

I just want to get the car back to it's original trim, original lock, original key etc.

The car is not worth much, but it's the inconvenience for my dad that is the reason that I am fixing it for him. He is happy to open via passenger side, but that's a real pain.

Fark carso is a rip off ... my mate can re-pin for $18. Out west .. damm the Hills area .. everything is so expensive here !

If the internal mechanisms are allright on the dead lock, i THINK u can swap all the locking pins into a wrecker lock, just gonna be fiddley.

I am not a very DIY person. Happy to pay someone to re-pin.

But I just can't believe the price difference due to the area we live in !
