have you tried bunnings?
The infamous chain tensioner. Found on all 2TG and 3TG Toyota engines.
If your chain tensioner is leaking from the breather hole as pictured above, follow the steps below and you'll end up with a tensioner as good as new.
Step 1.Remove two nuts from tensioner.
Step 2.
Remove circlip that prevents the plunger from flying accross the workshop.
Step 3.
Remove all eight internal components from the circlip end of the tensioner housing.
Step 3a.
First to emerge from the housing is the main plunger.
Step 3b.
Second to come out is the ball bearing, spring and hat combo.
Step 3c.
Third to arrive is the tension spring and stopper rod.

Step 3d.
Second last item is a nylon bush.
Step 3e.
Last but not least, the rear plunger with the worn out o-ring.
Step 4.
The standard o-ring on the rear plunger has square edges which helps it stay in its seat when being pushed into the tensioner housing. The standard o-ring is the one on the left in the pictures below.
Once I removed the worn out o-ring from rear plunger, I visited about 4000 auto and plumbing shops looking for a square edged replacment. With no luck and nothing to loose, I deceided I would try a conventional 10mm o-ring. This can be seen on the right in the pictures below.

The rest will come when I get another tensioner to play with. But the rest is simple anyway, just work up from the bottem.
If anyone finds any mistakes, let me know.
And mods, can we get Jackels post removed? Not because I dont like him, just cause hes in the way
