    yeah - point of note:

the distinct absence of any fuse in the above write-up is a big oversight by the author. any relocation NEEDS a fuse on the +ve line as close to the battery as possible

Ive updated the last page of the write up with additional disclaimer stuff - and eds point ..

I repeat im not an auto sparky - im not qualified - and this project was not 100% complete -

It worked for what i needed it to work for and never failed me - blew fuses - or caused any internal cabin type explosions ..

You use it as a GUIDE - How it may have to be sorted out depends on state laws , and what engineers/ governing bodies see to be passing or not .. Its best to check on all these - you may find more info than me, though no one during this setup mentioned it was wrong when going in - including a lovely lady at vicroads ..

Its one of those days ed - I know my limitations as a modifier - i try my best and i know most of the stuff here have holes as big as the grand canyon in them - hence why i TRiED to mention any shortcomings in the system i knew of.

I tried my best - did as much caring as i could - and made an effort for something i never thought I could undertake - Anything that goes ZAP or BANG - i leave to experts usually, im just not that skilled in my shed, with limited resources and buddies to call on for help

Agreed. I was doing the same, just to add more info to what you already had.

Im doing this at the moment. (But its a ke30) I want to run fuses on the alternator wires but they are around 100-140amps on the old fusable link.

What fuse block can i get to fuse these without using a fusable link.
    Thanx guys,

For my rolla i have used a 100 amp circut breaker like:

    http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView...Max=&SUBCATID=

not sure if that is the best way althoguh, my battery is in the boot, it is fused near the battery, it trips when shorted and the car still starts.

Best thing is that when it if it does trip in the middle of nowhere, I dont need to find a hard to replace fuse!

ANL fuses go up to 300 amps.
Get a 0-4 gauge ANL fuse holder. Should do the trick.

so if the positive happens to short out somewhere along its travels from the back to the front of the car, the fuse will burn out and terminate the circuit, rather than the fat positive wire getting hot and maybe even cause a car fire. better safe than sorry same principle as wiring up any positive wires in the car, make sure they're all fused, as burning wires can mean burning car real easy.

I'm about to relocate my battery into the boot of my ta22. a couple of questions that i have are
    - is 4GA power cable going to be enough
    - can i run the power cable to a distribution block, which will split it up so theres a power cable for the starter, and my fuel pumps?
    - would i connect the wires that run from the alternator (as in the charge and the voltage detection wire) to the distribution block, or would that have to be run back to the battery?
    thanks in advance

I had another look at my car and i think running 0 gauge from the boot to the engine bay would be really hard, especially running it under the front seat supports.
    but in any case bump
