well, the engine isn't leaking coolant anymore. haven't had any issues with blockage or overheating (yet *crosses fingers*). I'd recommend chem-i-weld to others in the same position I was in.

    cheers guys

As a mechanic i have used it many times..IT can not hurt anything.!! unless your radiator is half blocked then i can block it worse.
My own l300 work van blew a head gasket bad enough to hydraulic. Its now done about 20000ks and is still perfect.

Secret is you MUST follow the directions.!!!!! otherwise i doesnt work..

sorry to resurrect a 2 n half year old thread, but this thread is exactly wat im looking for, so i wont start a new thread!!

question, it says on the bottle run hotter than normal, but not boiling, once my thermostat opens, coolant starts gushing out the filler, so how do i pour the chemiweld in if there is coolant pissing out??

should i take my radiator out first and clean it prior to using chemi-weld??

Read the bottle dude, has pretty detailed instructions. Pretty sure you're meant to drain the coolant and replace it with water before adding the chemiweld. And you drain some of the water out so that there's room for you to slowly pour the chemiweld in there, if it's low enough it won't be gushing out

Its really important to flush system with good rad cleaner first. any coolant or oil on system and it wont stick.
Then almost fill rad get hot, normal temp is ok.Add sealup then go for a drive for about half an hour. turn of motor for ten minutes the go fo another short drive 5 mins will do. each time you turn it of the pressure will push it into the holes.leave in for a couple of days before emtying rad and refilling.

    Will Not hurt motor.!!!
Will only block rad if allready blocked up.
