looks a bit similar to the supercrown graph perhaps (ie valve springs)

where did the TRD valvesprings come from? not the same malaysian "TRD" valve springs are they?? have they been tested? will they open under the boost you are running?

thanks for all the replies guys.

i mentioned plug gap to adam, im running BCPR7ES with the 8mm gap as i always have, and as he recomends for everyone with a similar setup. he suggests this is not the case, and these are the plugs he ran when he had my setup.
i also thought plug gap because on some cars i have worked on with more boost, ie sr20's rb25's i have found that when the boost is upped to around 12-15psi the car missfires when the revs get above say 4000rpm, i have even closed gaps down to .6mm to fix it, but apparently this is not my issue.

    ecu, old E6A.

regarding valve springs, i cannot say forsure. i bought the engine in a smashed car and it had already had the work done. i installed the engine into my car as a gze and did the rest afterwards. i have some receipts for the work done and for some of the parts, but i cannot actually confirm any of it myself. i can see that there is a metal head gasket, but thats it.

about the A/R ratio on the dyno, i can only assume this was kept in check, i would think this is the key point to the tune and any tuner worth their salt would monitor this but who am i to say. running it again on the dyno is probably not an option, its hard to get time for him to tune it let alone test it once i have checked/changed parts.
i didnt get time to get the cat out again today but im doubtful in any case. i guess ill have another chat with adam soon, im supposed to do some work on his car as payment.

When you say "extra rich" its not too rich?
I have aslo had cars on dynos that make squigly lines like that but not so bad and my tuner will blame an out of balance tailshaft or wheel.
    but iam probably way off

When I first read your post with engine specs I guess I assumed the valvesprings were new, and verified to be the real deal..... it may pay to test them, as your issue could also represent valves being held off the seat by the extra boost as olrollas mentioned.

yeah i cannot confirm the valve springs, but its not real easy to take them all out and have them tested. taking them out one at a time with compressed air in the cylinder maybe, but i dont know about the lot. might be better off just getting a new set from the site sponsor (who everyone speaks highly of) and be done with it. i just dont want to be throwing money at things chasing problems like chris has ended up doing.

and i didnt get to take the cat out again today, have been busy at work and couldnt get time on a hoist. now i wont be able to do it till monday, have to go on a golf holiday friday-sunday
