    Default 4AGZE Engine

    Hi Everyone!

I'm gonna being doing an engine conversion for an AE86... An AE92 MAP sensored 4AGZE...

The engine is not in the car yet but what I wanted to know is, what are the recommended things that should be done or consider changing/fixing/checking before putting the engine into the car? Let's say seals? gaskets? etc...

It'll just be a standard supercharger engine setup.

I don't know the condition of the engine though.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers! =)

Don't forget to machine that flywheel!!!

    Guess who
Usually people say to change the water pump, its much easier while the car is out

If ur taking the flywheel off you might as well do the rear main seal (crankcase rear)
And also might wanna change spark plugs seeming how the intercooler goes on top, its much easier that way. Timing belt is a good one to do too!

    you should:
    - replace rear main seal
    - check clutch condition, or fit new clucth
    - replace timing belt and tensioner.
    - check condition of water pump ie leaks or free play
    - compression test while engine out of car, saves finding out its buggered after you have fitted it!

and a general check over for oil leaks and broken wiring plugs and the like

Thats a good start. I just recently put a 4age second hand. Filled up the oil. Next day, its leaking from in between the motor and box(Rear main seal) Quite annoying.

Yeah that's the sorta stuff I wanted to know... Things to be done before the engine goes in...

Yeah had machining the flywheel on the list.

    It'll be a front mounted intercooler =)

if u wanna check for any leaks spray some detergent over ur engine and run an air line with a regulator to ur rocker cover breather and watch for bubbles.

    0.8mm if memory serves.

    1.1mm for NA motors.
