    Question *NOOB* 3sge question

Could anyone tell me if i can bolt up a 3sgte pressure plate to a 3sge flywheel? If not would a turbo clutch fit into the NA pressure plate?

    Any help would be great.
    Cheers Mike

    it should work.

my reasoning for that is the Exedy part numbers for the MR2 clutches in the australian delivered 3SGE are exactly the same as they are for the JDM 3SGTE

The pressure plate will match up - given that it is the same diameter as your flywheel. (non turbo flywheels are 225mm, turbo are 240mm from memory) The problem is that the clutch disc will have a 20 spline for non turbo and 21spline for the turbos. The turbo discs wont go onto the non turbo input shaft of the gbox.

Hope this helps. Just go for an exedy HD item to suit your current setup. If you have a stock or even slightly modified 3s, you'll be hard pressed to slip it with one of these.

What series do you have by the way?

listen to the man! mine has never slipped yet and shows no signs of slipping (in nearly 9 months of thrashing)

im getting a 3sge gen3 to go into rwd format, iv got a w57 and that is a 21 spline input shaft, where the NA 3sge clutch is a 20 spline.(what i found on the exedy catalog)

thats y i ask would a turbo clutch fit the NA pressuer plate, or would the whole turbo assembley bolt to the NA flywheel.

sorry i didnt mention this earlyer.

    cheers guys

Well in your case its gonna be easier to go the turbo clutch kit option, granted that the pressure plate will fit. I actually have a gen2 st185 flywheel here for sale if you want (240mm) and would make using the turbo option alot easier. i wont be using and it does have an Extreme HD sports clutch disc with it as well (about 2-3000kms of use) Id say the turbo option just because of the splines. Its an expensive way to get them resplined. My mobile is 0415 298 248 if you want it.
50 is all im after with the clutch disc - thats what it cost me

for starters you will need a rwd f/wheel; to do this properly and just use a clutch kit from a sa63 celica will fit right up and be no problems ,if you have any other probs you can ring me on 0412045467
