    Default problematic 1ggte

hey guys this is my first post so be gentle on me, ive searched long an hard but now im taking the easy way out an just askin,
i have a hilux with a 1ggte in it,99% sure its a 3rd gen with standard ecu. just recently picking it up from a panel beater only to find a blown head gasket, it was blown so bad in no.6 that when i started it it would pour steam from the exhaust. Anyways i have had the head gasket replaced but now the motor is bearly making half the power it was. i have set the timing an that is good,

The problem that i have is as the revs reach around 5k the engine begins to pop an stop pulling, it is worse the more load it is under, the best way to describe the popping is almost like a carby motor with water in the fuel bowl. i have upgraded the fuel system bigger lines an pickup an vl turbo pump and as it was running fine before the h/g i dont think its fuel. i can hear the turbos spooling ok so i think they are good.

i have pulled the diag codes from it an i get 4 flashes then 2, can anyone tell me what this correlates to?

so any info would be appreciated. thanks jeremy

Go here for the 1ggte ecu codes http://www.toymods.net/TechDocs/

42 tells you the speed sensor is not connetec but you knew that. Looks like your problem is something non electrical. Look for leaks, also go back a few days in technical and you find someone with a similar problem.

I would have to say, have a look at the cam timing, as it sounds like it may be incorrect.

Failing that, there should be others aroung here that could point you in the right direction if that is not the case.

This sounds like a problem I have had

Get under the car and make sure all the turbo>exhaust manifold nuts/bolts are tight/there!
