Allowing 80mm or so from the manifold flange to the valve, that gives you about 180mm from the butterfly to the valve.
According to Jenvey, that might be a little short, but I'd guess that it should be OK.
I am making my self a manifold well kinda.
What we have done is cut the orginal 3sg manifodl up and god for bid that there is a fiat supporter here a Fiat dcoe side draft manifold up. We found the gen2 port spacings on the manifold are nearly a direct fit for the weber bolt spacing and pattern
Now my question is.
The stub on the 3sg gen2 manifold is roughly 50mm and is this going to be a problem? The throttle bodie's i am using ahve the butter fly at the top of it. So it total length the runner is close to 100mm(4" long). The throttle bodies have also been angled up for that ram style affect.
SOrry i ahven't posted pics but will by friday night.

yeah well i'm not revving to 9000rpm only a max of 7500rpm. I'll get measurements and foto's tonight.
Thanks for the link mate. +rep
well
here are the photo's i am using arc welding rods to hold the throttles in the rough position. The motor also does need to come up.
Havent got the measuirements yet.
The port spacing is so close it isn't funny. I'll talk with the man on monday and see what we can do
Possibly a dumb question here and I know it's not to do with the topic, but how come the motor isn't tilted.. 3s-ge's are supposed to tilt downwards towards the intake manifold if I'm not mistaken?
Forgive me if I'm missing something here, or if you've already got that covered!
I am the sun
you can get away with it not being tilted
those throttle bodies i am not using. There early motech ones and i don't really like them.
Will be using the EFI hardware ones with 50mm trumpets and an airbox if i can find space. i guess i could always pivot the engine.
Mick. Whast yours thoughts on my engine mounts. PM me if you like.

The engine is sitting straight up due to the gearbox used. I am using a standard holden 4 speed behind and this made ease of fitment.
If we do it again we will use the 2s and supra gearbox.
If you use the EFI hardware throttle blocks, that should give you heaps of room for tuning inlet lengths.
If you have a look at Bill Sherwoods site there are some numbers there to give you an idea of the total inlet length you'll want.
tried to rep you ben, but it wouldnt let me.
anyway, cheers for the jenvey link, it reminded me to go pull the inlet manifold off my spare engine and measure up some stuff.
at first o thought 200mm is huge, but:
the distance from valve to inlet manifold face is 90mm, and the distance from the butterly to the back face of one of the throttle bodies was 20mm, so i need 90mm in between.
should be easy to make and fit, and that page has me thinking about running mouth mounted injectors again.
sorry for the hijack!
I know the feeling, I've got about 65-70mm from the valve to the face and I keep coming up with about 100mm of inlet length so there is no way I'm getting anyhere near 200mm between the TB and the valve....
bit of an update here as it hs been a while. Manifold has been ported and welded together. some final touches and the it will be bolted together
Sorry for the poor pics.

looks good man! fark that was a long time between updates LOL
Mmmmmmmm 2ZZGE
yeah i know! lol. people are busy and throttle bodies cost money!
I'll get photo's of it installed oneday too....
