deisels can be alot larger than petrol fuelled engines, simply because they dont rev as hard.
you dont think the "clacka claka" deisel note is because its a small, high revving engine did ya?

yeah the new turbo desiels seem to move and they don't ahve the desiel Knockl at highway speeds only on idle.
Apparently the injector pressure is alot higher thannormal like above 1000 psi or something....
putting the diesel motor in a soluna body? that's really weird.. i doubt it'd be any faster though.. but u'll probably get more torque..
FYI those D4-D motors have a variable geometry turbo which means zero lag (this is what i got from the brochures from my home-land and the aussie version).. that plus CRD and a lot of lightweight bits and new technology makes them a pretty darn good engine .. but i wouldn't put it in anything sedan-ish.. it's more for commercial / SUV type uses..
still i reckon a converntional 1.5 petrol engine would run faster than it.. simply coz of the higher revs and well... it's petrol vs diesel... !?

Indeed, actually Toyota had been providing the European countries with D4-D RAV4's since 2001 (2nd gen body shape) and they were only 2L variants.
