No Fuel to Engine

Hi sorry for inconvenience,

Hooked up fuel lines to car last night but no fuel getting to engine will run off aero start but thats it.

The engine is a 13t if someone could help or if they can post a picture of there 13t engine bay so i can check that everything is hooked up right that would be good.

Are you using the stock mechanical fuel pump? If so the first thing to check is the condition of the diaphragm, if it's rooted it won't pump anything.

also are the fuel lines going to the right place?

return to return - send to send and not reversed, ie fuel pump sucking the return line

Does the carby have a small electric solenoid on it, if so do you have power and earth hooked up.

made sure the car isn't empty on fuel?

I second Norbie's plan of attack,

Ok, this is what I would do.
Pull off the fuel send hose from the fuel pump, put your finger over the pipe hole and get someone to crank it, If your finger doesn't get sucked onto the pipe it means your fuel pump is buggerd.

Oh and also check to make sure that fuel solenoid is powered up as Jon said, in the past I recall running a wire from the ignition coil to it so that it only has power when the igniton is on, make sence?....Did to me at the time.

if the stock mechanical pump is fine.... or its an electric one, establish ur correct lines then get an air compressor with a blower nozzle on it open ya fuel cap enough to that it will let air out, ram the nozzle down the and blow the fuel back into the tank, (assuming you have fuel) occasionally when you empty your tank then re-fill some random shit inside the tank can be taken into the lines and block them or severely restrict the flow

The mechanical fuel pump is bolted to the block under the inlet manifold. It's pretty hard to miss, just follow the fuel lines.

u will know if ya have an electric if when ya turn the key to on, it will make a whirring noise

just disconnect the feed line to the carby, and turn it over, if no fuel comes out, your pump or something along that route is rooted.

To second that, see if you can suck fuel up the line, therefore eliminating chance of blocked line.

Does the sight glass in the carby have fuel in it, or is it empty?

It may be a push type fuel pump which will mean it has to be primed for it to keep pushing fuel. if it is running, with you car on run (not start) you should be able to here a "takakakakaka" noise, if not it may be stuffed. other wise push fuel into it via siphon

This also occurs in low pressure electric pumps and even high pressure electric pumps (bmw's are notorious for this, if the tank is let run dry then topped up), especially in tank ones, these need to be gently tapped with a hammed or someting while they are running to get the air out.



Ps, having failed this, give you carby a good clean with carby cleaner and air compressor, this is what i had to do to my motorbike when i took it off the road for winter, it had a whte scumy build up, im told du to the carbiews being an alloy??



i poured a little bit of petrol directly into the carb then it had a venturie effect on the gavity feed and suck the petrol through
