1jz-join between pump and coolant pipe

hey guys,got a prob theres a coolant pipe that sticks into the top section of the water pump,it has a rubber o ring on the end you insert and its held in place by bolting it back onto the head.
problem is ,it doesnt seem to sit in all the way but it doesnt bolt up any other way either,
and it leaks without even any pressure.
am i missing a piece?

Well, if everything is clean, and the O-ring on both ends is in good order (i.e. replace them!) then you shouldn't have any issues. This pipe is the bypass tube, by the way.
