    Default power windows/cruise/speed alarm gz20

    hi guys
    just bought a 89 GT-L soarer and am lovin it, everything is great except the retractablemirros dont work and on the way back from sydney the driver side window stopped workin. any ideas on where to start. or whats wrong.

    Hmmmm, could be light corrosion and/or muck on the switch conacts in the controls, as they are both in the same location. MX-73's are bad for that. I would start by dissasembling the switches and cleaning them out with an alcohol based contact cleaner. BTW, don't use wd40, will just make things worse.

    well i went away for a few days and when i got back all is good for the power window it works fine now, retractable still dont work though. weird?? also has anyone got any idea on how to delimit the cruise on gz20 and how to dismantle the dash to disable the over 105km/h alarm??

    As far as I know I haven't come across a workaround for the cruise above 105kph. The chime is easily disabled though, have a search, I think Coff33 posted the thread.

    ah found the guide, thank god its gone, now to work out the retractable and the cruise

    Yep, my mate with a GZ20 spent ages and was comparing the Z30 guide with stuff in his car and it was all different.

    There may be a possible fix he didn't try though, you should check whether locally delivered MA70 cruise control is similar to yours, if so, they don't have such a limit.

    where is the cruise box on the gz20??

    Pull the box apart, look for an obvious looking wire link... If you don't want to risk killing anything, you could just divide the signal going into the box, so that it thinks the car is going slower than it is..

    where is the box? how would i trick it?? tried a different retractable mirrow control but still no luck on that either
