    Default Crown front brakes

Does anyone have specs for the front disc brake rotors from the UZS131 Crown?? I need to know a minimum thickness as mine need machining. Or, does anyone know a supplier that sells them. I have been able to buy brake pads and overhaul the calipers, but nobody has anything on the rotors.

    Cheers,
    Shane

I do not know the answer, but on the few rotors I have seen the minimum thickness is stamped / cast into the rotor somewhere, maybe on the back.

It might mean taking the rotor off but it might give you the answer!

    Good luck!

those would have been a 32 or a 30mm disc from factory. The tolerance is -2mm. So if they are less than 30, replace them If not, just machine them up.

they arent that thick...... they are more like 27mm.

They use a DB1137 pad up front, which is hard to find (i could only get Lucas pads as the only brand off the shelf), and im pretty sure the disc is about 270 x 27mm
    ...... butt scratcher?!

I have a couple of disks off a UZS141 which measure 275 diameter and 31 thick You can have them if you want them and can use them.

I wonder if the ms123 front discs would be the same spec at all?

    They are 252x20mm.

Or maybe just hang the expense and go the 300ZX calipers and AU rotors.
My sig has been pruned as it was over 5 lines long.

    Thanks guys.

They are 276mm diameter and about the 27 - 29mm thick mark (from memory)

They don't look to be badly worn so I am hoping a light skim will get me out of trouble for now. But there is no one anywhere that I have found that can supply me new ones. So even if I can get some from off a front cut one day I will keep them as spares.

    Cheers,
    Shane.

There will be something similar on another Toyota. IIRC, one of the Taragos was bloody close.

The thickness on the unworn part of the rotor is 26mm and it is worn to about 25.5mm. There is a Tarago rotor that is very close. DBA735. 276mm dia, 28mm thick. That number also comes up on Lexus/Camry etc. So sounds like a very common rotor. It may need a 5mm shim made to fit between the hub and rotor. But other than that it looks like it should work.

I am going to machine these for now though.

    Thanks for you replies.
