    Default 1JZ miss fire/Electrical problem

    Hi all,

I'm having a problem with a miss fire. It only seems to miss fire when their is more than 5 to 10 psi. Under lighter boost ( and lighter throttle ) it seems fine. Also it dosn't seem to miss fire when its cold for maybe the first 2 mins of driving if the motor is cold ie: fist thing in the morning.

It also some times miss fires under lighter acceleration but will go away after a few seconds.

Also my head unit has started to turn off when i use the indicator or electric window or any other accesory that uses power. Could this be related to the missfire?

I changed the plugs a few weeks ago and put in NGK bkr7e-11. I gapped them to .8 mm, would these be fine if not can you recomend any others for a moderatly moded 1jz?

    Thanks.

crook coil .... they usually only play up once they get hot

pull them out and look for little track marks inside the rubber boot, or pull the wiring plug off one at a time while its missing to find the crook one
