don't suppose anyone has a dyno graph of a stock engine for comparison purposes???

when my turbos first went, i saw the guys at the local turbo supplier and the guy there recommended a GT30, but from what i could tell it would just be too much of a monster on my engine, even with the smallest exhast housing... i've been thinking something along the lines of the GT25 or even the GT28... but haven't really looked into the single turbo side of things...

    reads with interest .....

i am just about to build a single turbo manifold or maybe two, for a 1g
ill be putting a t25/28 flange on it to run an hks2540

its taken me months to get all the parts, anyone tried to get 1 3/8" tube and bends in stainless!!!!! anyway i now have them and all the flanges laser cut

what i want to find is pictures of 1gg single manifolds to get some layout ideas
so please post me if you have or know of any

to stay on topic ive been told it is much more preferable to have pipes flowing and meeting the flange/ colector smoothly than equal length thats just a small bonus if they are similar in length

its NOT worth putting extra bends and wiggles in the pipes to get the lengths the same

yeah i'd be inclined to agree there as far as equal length goes... i was only thinking tonight on the way home i'm gonna be slack and try and find someone elses manifold, the equal length concept can't possibly make that much difference, 'cause the stock R32 manifold is just cast the cheapest possible way, and it works perfectly fine...

if your making manifolds and interested in making another let me know... could be an easy way out, for myself atleast

    as for ideas...

    Ebay US has this

Matt from the old forums has this monster for offering, i was looking at it way back, but there's no way it'd fit in my engine bay... even if took the engine out!

finished im guessing over $500, have to see how tricky it is

so far i have spent over $300 getting the flanges, tube and bends etc. its a verry unusual size of 35mm

stainless steel is what i do for a living so it'l be fully purge welded and i wont settle for anything that isnt designed to flow well so it may take a ot of work to get it right

$500 would be about the cheapest custom stainless steel manifold for a 6 cylinder in history! You must be super fast at what you do, cause that's stuff-all money for labour!

I don't even have a 1G, but would almost buy one at that price anyway! haha.

Please keep us posted with progress pics as the manifold comes together 1jaracing

    Cheers

1jzracing - if you can make a stainless manifold for less then $600 (and a decent one at that) sign me up. i'll go with a single flange, internal gate. PM me if your serious.
