Default odd highpitch whistle in 1JZ, possibly rear actuator

i got some custom dumps done today, and since they put it back together it makes this really high pitched whine, like a boost leak {sounds like one of those stupid whistle things u give kids at bday parties}.

we checked heaps of things, we eventually got a bit of hose and moved around while it was begin loaded up and when it went near/on the rear wastegate actuator the nopise became VERY loud, i am 99% sure its the rear gate.

the car will come on boost easily enough, but doesnt SEEM to be any quicker with the dumps,

    the noise is extraordinarily load

has anyone heard of this problem, do u think i will do damage, i have to take it back to them tomorrow

    prob better PMing him that!

with the engine going and from a cold start in the morning, have a feel around and a listen to see if you can find an exhaust leak. Has to be a leak because the exhaust has been played with.

also check the lines going to/from boost control to the actuators - they've been arsing about near them and one might have either come loose or cracked.

Do you get the sound with free revving or just on boost? free revving would suggest zorst, but on boost suggests it's between turbos and the inlet.

    cheers,
    charles.

It will be a leak at the turbo housing to dump pipe.take the heat shields off.cover the seal area with soapy water as if you were looking for a tyre leak then cold start the entgine with a couple of mates holding a bright light on the turbo seal area.the leak will be super visible straight away.OR NOT.
