    Default what is the 'child section'?

    when doing an advanced search, under the box where you can narrow a search to a particular section of the forums there is a checkbox saying "Also search in child forums"

    Sub forums of the main forum. For example Tech has the FAQ and Conversion forums in it, simply allows you to includeor exclude them from your search.
