the fwd hks manifold normaly has firewall space issues when you use it. the aw11 hks manifold mounts the turbo down the side of the engine where there is more space.
Another one of the thousand or so questions floating around regarding going from supercharger to turbo on an AW11.
I can get my hands on a second hand HKS turbo kit for about $950. It includes a shit load of plumbing and stuff plus turbo, manifold, etc. The only thing is that it has come of an AE92 and i have no idea if i will have enough room in the bay of the AW11 to fit all the AE92 gear.
Do the AE92's have a similar amount of room in the bay to an AW11, Is anyone familiar with the HKS turbo kit and what it should fit in?
Cheers

They use a similar mainfold if you like the turbo to sit half into the cockpit with a decent size turbo!
yea, good for keeping your elbow warm on them cold mornings.
got some pics on the home pc with a box section welded into the cabin firewall to house a turbo.
there is a owner in the UK that is useing a fwd hks manifold, not sure what turbo, but i think has managed to squeeze it all in. though has never provided a pic when i have asked.
ROFL @ box firewall.
Homebrew, triumph triple, turbo aw11
Fire wall, meet hammer.
hahaha...but seriously, I don't think the AE92 kit would work too well, I'd hazard a guess you'd have to change a fair amount of stuff. Maybe look at making your own manifold/getting one made up? Unless you're getting the HKS for nearly nothing, I doubt it'd be worth it for the amount of custom stuff you'd have to make...
RM.
Yeah i think i will give the AE92 kit a miss. Im living in Japan so i only have basic tools to do things with (ie. no welder, drill press, etc). Only got the AW11 a couple of weeks back to get around in for several months until i head back to aus.
I think i will keep to getting a pulley kit for now until i get the car back to aus. Still i will have to keep a look out for parts to bring back for it.
