Id either go for an F series out of a MK2 Corona or a crown, or a better idea is a G series big diff out of a hilux or hiace.

Hilux. Then fit an engine that might have a chance of breaking it.

if you want quick and easy then go for a T series and fit a LSD to that. otherwise the G series is the go, but requires more work to make it fit

F series or G series are unnecessary hassle and expense if the car doesn't need a diff that big. If it still has an atmo 4-banger the T series should be adequate. Swap in a T18 rear end, grab one of the many aftermarket LSD centres, install and enjoy.

Centre road self serve in springvale had a couple of t-18's with diffs the other week.try and get the later one with the sway bar mounts as it is a bolt in job, otherwise weld (or get welded) the sway bar mounts off your old diff on the newy .ra40 diff is a goer as well but same with the sway mounts and the panhard rod mount is diferent posy as well so an adjustable rod is a goer there. If you have to weld then get a tercel sway bar while your there as the posy is a tad different but a cool cheap upgrade.have fun.

    cheers joe

t18 diff with no LSD should set you back $100.

Has any one tried to fit a tarago Y22 F diff to AE71 / KE70?
was looking at this option on my KE which will have 3SGE fittied.
Have price a diff housing for $100 open center then about $400 for supra LSD.
