Hi Brett, no worries.
I was starting to get sick of looking at it....
Thanks for getting the quad plate for me Grant, I will let you know how it goes.
Sorry I took so long to pick it up and thanks for not charging me storage

Hi Brett, no worries.

Grant,
Are the 1JZ and 2JZ cam gears different as there have been issues with opposite models not being compatable? Here is the thread regarding it: http://www.toymods.net/forums/showthread.php?t=25413
I also wanted to check if there are any differences in all the JZ type triple plate clutches and what diameter disc do they run? Are you able to inspect a second hand one and recommend/perform a rebuild?

Hi Paul we are currently trying to gather more information about the issue a Toymods member is having.
To the best of my knowledge they are the same. This holds true for all the aftermarket cam gears to suit non VVT-i 1JZ and 2JZ engines.
Cheers
Thanks for that Grant.
And the clutch query (which was the real reason i wanted to ask but noticed the post about the cam gears too)?
Hi Paul, it depends what you mean by differences.
Obviously the hub spline is different between R154 and Getrag.
Of course we can inspect any OS Giken clutch and recommend a rebuild.
Cheers
So a clutch to suit a xJZ/R154 will be the same, no matter source/VVTi etc? And if were to upgrade to a Getrag, i would only need to change to what suits the input shaft (clutch plates or is it centre hub), nothing else like flywheel, etc.Originally Posted by dori dori

Hi Paul, hopefully this will make it clearer.
If you have a OS Giken clutch to suit an R154 gearbox then yes its interchangeable between 1JZ and 2JZ VVTi or not provided to keep the R154 gearbox.
The same goes for Getrags.
If you have a Os Giken clutch to suit a R154 and wish to fit it to a Getrag they are not interchangeable.
Cheers
Hi all, as you may be aware some 1JZ owners have had issues with Os Giken cam gears fouling on the bolt heads that secure the backing pate onto the head.
We have confirmed that OS Giken have fitted the incorrect bolts to these cam gears which is causing the fouling. This is not an issue if you have a 2JZ engine.
If you have purchased OS Giken cam gears from us at Otomoto Pty Ltd or on Ebay through our sister company, Up Garage Pty Ltd please contact me so i can arrange to replace the cam gears with new ones with the correct size bolts.
Both Os Giken and Otomoto appologise for any inconvenience.
Regards,
