Correct jacking point on a Z20?

Ey guys,

As the title sugest i'm wondering whereabouts the correct place to jack my MZ21 is? It appears to have been jacked many, many times in the past, from many diferent locations all of which have left there mark I'd like to knwo where abouts i should really be jacking from, to prevent anymore damage being done to the underside of this car.

What sort of jack dude? The scissor jack thingo that comes with the car? Or a trolley jack?

either, i've been using a trolley but think the standard jack would make getting the jack stands under easier

Well scissor jack points are located behind the front wheel and infront of the rear wheels kinda next to the chassis rail. Should be indentations that shows you the 'correct' position to place the scissor jack.

With the trolley jack, I just normally put it under the cross member in the front and under the diff at the back. I dont think there are really a correct place to place a trolley jack, as long as the place in question can support the weight.

What Yian said is right. If you're having trouble getting the jack under there in the first place, one option is to either use a couple of planks, or do what I did and make some little ramps out of wood to drive the car up onto first, leaving plenty of room to jack even when the car is lowered.

If you dont have enough room to roll the car onto the bits of wood you can jack off the front tow points to get the bits of wood under.
