Hey I scored some aluminium piping. $10 for 4 metres for intercooler piping. 60mm - outside to outside. 3mm thick walls. My intercooler thats coming has 3" inlets/outlets, but ill just get a step down silicon join to meet the pipe size.
What are your thoughts? Do you think Ill get a good flow out of the aforementioned setup? What setups are yous all running, how effective do they feel?

If you have a 7MGTE and use 60mm pipe your head gasket will blow, if you have a 1JZGTE, the 60mm piping will cause your turbos to fall apart...

For a sreet setup 60mm would be fine. For big HP you will need 3 inch piping

Yeh sorry, Im running a 3sgte in an ST185, 3" dump/exhaust, pod filter, about 12psi of boost. Intercooler should arrive anytime soon. Also I purchased it off ebay, and it says it has delta fins.
What the hell are delta fins? Do they have advantages/disadvantages.

Yeah your 60mm will be fine, I was running 61mm to and 70mm from my intercooler on a 1JZGTE and it was supporting 200rwkw in my 4WD, so 225+ rwkw in a normal car. As for "Delta fins" maybe you should google it???

You know how on an ordinary cheapo bar n plate intercooler the actual tubes that carry the pressurised air meet the outside airflow square on? Well, with a delta fin intercooler the only difference (im pretty sure) is that the tubes that carry the air are actually set at an angle instead of being square on to the oncoming airflow. I suppose the result is the intercooler is less restrictive to the air flowing through it and hence you might get back charge air cooling?!?!? Im poor at explain such concepts in words. . .if you dont understand i can draw a quick picture for ya?

I wouldn't use pipe with 3mm wall for it. It is just a bit too heavy in the wall section.
As for how much power can be made through it, take a look at Richard Anderson's 3RZ turbo 180SX - it uses 60mm or 63mm intercooler pipe for about 780rwhp.
As for how restrictive it is; check the size of the compressor outlet.Toyota 7M GTE CT26 is about 44mm (using my sketchy memory and sketchier vernier eyeball).

Size isnt everything! Flow is all about Reynolds number (a dimensionless parameter that defines they type of fluid flow). Re is a function (amongst other things) of cross sectional area. The pipe size should be selected correctly to provide laminar flow (as apposed to turbulent). So you really need to look at flow velocities and things like that for a correctly engineered setup. Things get even more confusing when you look at heat exchangers (intercoolers) as in that case you want a turbulent flow to maximise the heat exchange.
3mm wall thickness also seems a little excessive, but at least you should be able to pump about 200 psi into it. for $2.50 a metre it doesnt really matter i guess!

The idea is (as above) to create maximum turbulence, so that more air molecules get to contact the metal. Yet the sizing of the core appropriate to split the charge enough that its velocity is low, and the turbulent path creates minimal velocity loss.

I havnt seen or flowed one yet, but i would find it strange that Apexi would go backwoods in there coolers for a sales gimmic. They well could but i doudt it.

There is a reason that end tanks are shaped and good ones have deflectors inside the end tanks, otherwise you could just shove a square box on the end as the tank.
Talk about try to make simple things complex without knowing, but im happy to help your understanding.
