Are you going to run the G55 G/box behind the GTE 2J . have you had any probs with the G55 of current behind the NA 2J , was this the chinese rolin new box .
Dave
Yes it is the Chinese G55 and although works fine, it does not quite have the shifting quality of the toyota G55.Originally Posted by cambelt1

Well, the 2jzvvt-i is out and I sold the 2jzgte vvt-i and purchased a 2jzgte, and it's about to go in.
Had the engine rebuilt as well as the turbo,s.
I am pissed off because I bought my son, who works for me, a 2.5 VW Transporter and it goes like a cut snake and whats more does 800ks to a tank of diesel. Why am I persisting with my Toyota?
The different factor is what i enjoy, but to a degree though ...
But also i would hope that you have spent no where near the cost of the VW on the hiace ..
What made you sell the GTE VVTI ?
The GE VVTI was an absolute pain in the arse and I didn't want to have that pain with the GTE.
And how has the G55 handled it all , been thru any .
Again do you think you will use G55 behind the GTE .
I acctully bought a spare SBV box for my cruiser if ever i need one but ive had no probs at all with my current G55 .

The Chinese fake G55 went OK for the 80,000ks but I have been finding a little gear selection problems of late. I have purchased a genuine G55 for the GTE. Hope it goes alright, my son thinks it will all turn to custard.Originally Posted by cambelt

It's running, sort of.
Going good now.
Now I know why they don't put high powered engines in work vans.
Love to put a decent ratio gearbox in it as the standard one has a huge gap between 2nd and 3rd. Although I need the 4.3 - 1 first to get me the van, the trailer, and the race car of the mark.
Any ideas?
Top effort with the G55 G/box
They arnt the strongest of boxes and yet you are lugging 4 tons behind one with a motor that makes 400nm .
