Its possible that the 1G's crank sticks 5-7mm further out than the 22RE's.
I know this is the case with JZ motors.
Hey all, got a quick question.. My mate is converting a RA65 22RE to a 1GGTE.
He is using his original gearbox, I think its a W55 or W57. But he has noticed the 1GGTE bellhousing, while it all bolts up, is around 5 - 7mm longer.
Can anyone confirm if thats correct, and if its a problem? I guess in terms of spigot, or the position of the clutch bearing? I've never heard of any 1GGTE - W55/7 bellhousing problems?
Thanks
Joel

Ahh ok that is interesting idea.
still want the measurements?
i have both bellhousings
hello
As stated, the guy is using a 1G bellhousing to bolt a "W" series gearbox to a 1G-GTE engine. That is as the factory intended, so no drama's.
An IS200 box I have here, has the gearbox input shaft protruding beyond flush with the bellhousing face. From memory about 5mm.
cheers Chuck.
