Hm, interesting. I was under the impression that Historic Rego could also be applied for for a historic club race car, which still meets normal registration requirements.
Maybe thats only in the ACT.

its a good idea, but i agree a bit lmited as to who can use them.
since moving to SA they have a much wider range of plate available, even CORPORATE plates which can have your own logo on etc, if i could get toymods corporate plate i would definately be in.
funny how nsw are so keen on revenue raising (speed cameras parking tickets etc) that they dont follow the lead of SA by offering a much wider range of custom plates.

Rod is talking about special "conditional registration for historic cars"
ie, limited use, and limited cost, but with many restrictions....

Time to start looking for a stocker. RT52 GT or RT75 GSS would be nice to have on historic rego. I would struggle to keep anything that isn't a GT etc standard though.
As to not really being of use to all members, there was a draft for club rego for modified cars going around a while ago. According to the RTA this does not exist any more, the only modified limmitted use rego they listed as being current was Hotrod, pre 1948 cars only, and rally rego.
I know we're a modified car club. On the other hand we're all Toyota Enthusiasts as well and any way to keep classic Toyota's in good condition and out there for people to see in all their glory can only be a good thing.

OC i thinik they changed the system so now there is no historic rego plates, it is all conditional rego with different purposes, historic cars, bobcats and earth moving equipment etc. etc.Originally Posted by oldcorollas
I would definately be interested if this went ahead.
I have a KE20 on historic rego already, registered with the Toyota Club of NSW.
Would this be a seperate identity with Toymods, or a combined Toyota Club/Toymods scenario?
I much prefer to be a Toymods member, but it is a necessity to be a member of the Toyota club as I need the historic plates. Given the choice though - Toymods!
Cheers
ROB
Rob,
Toymods is happy for the Toyota Car club guys to come to any event and its great when we can all catch up. Toymods and The Toyota Car club will be remaining seperate identities in there own right and are not affiliated, we will be independantly issueing the plates if it goes ahead.

bump,
anymore progress with this?
Blake,
Obviously this is taking us a while due to shall we call it an internal administration problem The requireemts for getting it up and running are slowly being met and it should be under submission to the RTA in the next month or two.
River and Lambolica are working to get all the paperwork and requiements together for us to lodge our official request, like all things run by the government it's a painful process but we are finally making progress.

i dont know what its like over east but here in W.A with these club license's you have to take it for inspection once every year, and you can only drive to and from events and my favourite test and tune so you can test and tune when ever you like .
yes it has to be unmodified but we have got threw a few that had some improvements (custom a/c, p/s and say a bigger engine of the same family).
we have licensed other make cars into the jag car club aswell so i dont think you have to be racist.
i dont have a funny or cool signature.
