    Default Post Counts

    Hi Guys

We all know how much respect losers who only post for sale threads etc get so I figured we'd take a look at what forums actually count towards post count.

Of course we want technical to count, then we are looking at some decisions. I'd like to hear peoples thoughts as well as their choices on the poll.

The irony is that the 'losers' may post whinges in membership and feedback about why their post count hasn't gone up.

Didn't we have a massive problem with events in other states? Alot of dribble goes in in some of those threads......?

Personally I like the Idea of Tech and conversions only counting.

    # The classifieds hold the most benefit to the poster
    # Giving Credit for posts in Events will only encouage random and multiple responses
    # Credit for membership and feedback just doesn't seem right, sure we want to here peoples comments... Maybe that would be ok I guess ??? Slightly undecided on that one.
    # the members rides section could be counted
    # Genereal car talk is just agood place for a social
    # Tech and conversion is where you post to help others and share the knowledge, being from the old school toymods I would realy like to see it back to a place known for its content rather than its volume.

    Just my personal thoughts anyway.

As long as people don't post in tech just to get their post count up.

Personally looking at the current forums I'd remove the Classifieds, Outhouse, Feedback at least from the post count (also unsure about events)

dammit - i just realised i clicked the wrong vote!!

i think it should be both tech and general car talk. General car talk is a means by which we are harbouring growth of a greater toyota community, so we should encourage people to post there.

Realistically there isnt too much crap that goes thru general car talk IMO

I reckon T&C only... possibly + general car talk
Just make sure people aren't encouraged to ask stupid questions or post stupid reply's to get to a post count that allows them access to certain parts of the forums.

My opinion is tech and conversions as well as general car talk should be counted. On the current forum they are both quite simmilar in content, people use them fairly interchangably. When people have a automotive question that they don't think really qualifies and tech and conversions they put it in general car talk.

Obviously any retards spamming in an attempt to increase post count won't be tolerated.

    What about forum sponsors then?
Will they have a 0 post count if they only post in their own section?
