    Default 1jz microtech users

    Couple of questions for you:

    1. What ISCV do you use?
    2. How would you rate the idle quality?
    3. Was it hard to setup?
    4. Do you experience missing?
    5. What boost/rpm level?
    6. Do you run sequential spark?
    7. Do you run stock coil packs?

    Thanks in advance

    Chris

    (not a 1jz, but 1uz)

    1) 20V 4age
    2) average, as the ISCV I'm using was designed to flow air for a 1.6L motor, not a 4.0L motor
I plan to play around with it when car is back on the road. Use a mechanical sensor to increase cold idle, and then just use ISCV for warm idle. Time will tell.
Should do better on a 2.5L motor.
    3) Not that hard, bit tedious. (are you refering to ISCV only? my answer was)

    Can't answer the rest sorry.

    4) If you mean overall, no, its perfectly smooth.

    1. dont think im using one
    2. idle is fine ( sep for odd lumps for the small spark gap )
    3.no idea
    4. i started to miss once boost went over 19psi, brought the gap down to .6 and it went away, miss on idle thoug
5.boost is 22psi max rpm is stock 7250 i think
    6. not sure...

    1) no iscv (cracked the throttle)
    2) cold start is rich and choky (so I have to hold the accel pedal in a bit for 30 secs...tune is still being perfected), once warmed up slightly high from the cracked throttle but quite good
    3) as a whole it was a piece of piss. iscv I wouldn't know
    4) occasional miss at idle, smooth as all through the rev range tho
    5) 16psi. revs out comfortably to 7500rpm (gets a bit asthmatic up top due to stock dumps)
    6) yes. was 5 mins of extra wiring, and the ltx12 can handle it, so why not?
    7) Yes

    Thanks Draven.

So with no ISCV, if you don’t hold the throttle down does it idle low when it is cold and then the idle rises when it gets warmer?

if I don't hold the throttle down it will stall on a cold winters day, but is fine in summer. Once again this could be due to the over-rich cold start. and yes, the idle rises when warm

Easy way to fix this Draven (happy Bday btw), is to fit a coolant controlled mechanical air valve where the ISCV sits.

Such that when the coolant is cold, it is open, and as the coolant heats up, it closes off.
Then you just have to play with the throttle plate to get a nice match between the pair.

    1. What ISCV do you use? NONE, its disabled

    2. How would you rate the idle quality?AWESOME, its idles at 600 rpm no dramas, no farting no coughing. when at jambo i had to load it on the trailer clod start at 12 deg cel and it started first hit of the key and purred like a kitten

    3. Was it hard to setup? paid an atuo elec to install, and got it tuned by rx engineering

    4. Do you experience missing?NO

    5. What boost/rpm level?28 psi is max i have run, and 7500rpm is rev limit

    6. Do you run sequential spark? i believe so

    7. Do you run stock coil packs? yes, but at 468 rwhp they are at the end of their life and i will be using an AEM ignition module soon.

    Thanks in advance- no problamo

microtech is an awesome ECU i could not be happier. the idle comes back to the tuners ability not the ecu. mine get tuned by rx engineering who is paid to fly to the states and tune cars, he has tuned several cars that hold world records including mine. i drive min eon the street regulary which most people in newcastle can attest too.

bottom line, go microtech, oh and get some gas for that big turbo
