Hi all. Been getting so many ppl tellin me whats best for my 1JZ converted RA23 diff wise.
Most common is put a hilux diff in it, put a volvo diff in it, put a VL turbo diff in it.
Another was keep the original diff but swap the centre for an AE86 LSD.
Another was find an MS112 crown and use a Supra LSD.
The motor is going to remain pretty stock for the time being so I dont need anything over the top.
obviously retaining my original diff and swapping centres sounds the easiest but Ive also been told that finding an AE86 LSD wont be easy.
Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Don't bother with the standard diff. It may last a while, but you'll be on borrowed time behind a 1JZ.
I'd recommend against a Supra LSD in a Crown housing. The Supra LSDs are very old now and not that great to start with, so if you do it get a proper centre (Altezza centres fit).
Aside from the stock one, all you mention are good contenders, all with their pluses and minuses. There is a huge amount of info around about them. It all depends what you want to do with it, your budget, what type of centre you are keen on (2way, locked, trutrac, etc), what you have available, etc.
I need a working 4AGE bottom end. Pref smallport GZE, but all others considered. Also complete motors.
Drift Volvo. Was fun. 2JZ next time.
