clean oil is also awesome at getting dirty oil/grease off hands, then just wash the clean oil off.
its a spin out the first time you try it.

Nifty little tool I picked up a few months back is a 1/4 drive ratchet, this one is a little different in that the handle rotates and ratchets like a ratchet screwdriver. The damn thing has become indispensable for working in tight spots. Idael for removing worm drive clamos at the bottom of radiators, undoing radiator bolts etc. Sometimes in some places you can just get a nut on the stud, or just get a bolt started but a normal rathet will not ratchet backward, this thing, you just spin the handle and wham the nut or bolt tightens up. The only drawback is the direction setting bar is a bit fiddly, that being said $40.00 at the Bunnings toolshop, best ever buy.
cheers Chuck.

...a 7M alternator will fit on a 1J or 2J with a minor bit of fettling to one of the lumps where the studs go through holding the casing together...add a 10mm spacer and it bolts straight in![]()
Has anyone got a trick for removing moisture from headlights?
Parking in the sun all day works , but thats not good for paint.
Someone suggested drilling a small hole at the bottom of the plastic cover , but then driving in the rain wont help. But maybe a removable plug in the hole.
What about a concealed packet of silicagel somewhere?
Ideas anyone?
You need to figure out where the moisture is getting in. There's probably a small crack in the plastic somewhere, or a gap in the seal around the glass.
Once you figure out how it's getting in (easier said than done), get the moist air out by heating in the sun on a dry day. Then seal the water entry point with some silicon so more can get in.
Good. Fast. Cheap.
Pick 2.
Mums hair dryer works a treat for getting rid of the moisture. If the water is getting in through a crack in the front plastic, clean the area well with some metho, place a coule of drops of supaglue along the crack, then attempt to twist the headlight to open up the crack, the supaglue will flow into the crack as it opens up, then it will bond when the crack closes up. Wipe off the excess glue and re install the headlight.
cheers Chuck.

Don't forget to open the back of the headlight where you install the globe, so the water can escape as you try to dry it out.
Maybe sticking a bag of desiccant in (like what comes in pill bottles) could help really dry it out once you have it all sealed up again.
Thanks guys,
I'll wait for a hot day to dry both headlights out and reseal them.
Its only a winter problem with moisture build up.
Got some black trim to paint?
Go to your local model store and look for the Tamiya spray paints. Paint code TS-29 (semi gloss black) is a perfect match for the black plastic used in interior trim (well for my mid 90's Levin anyway). It matches in colour and sheen and being a model paint, it is designed to spray straight into plastics.
Are there power steering pumps that would fit the JZ but with bigger pressure figure on the output?

Engine conversion is when you drive a shitbox which costs a whole LEXUS to own
Pumps create flow not pressure, you need a pump with a higher flow rate![]()
