Budget ?
Hey guys
Am going to have to replace ALL my suspension n brakes now....so im after some advice on what to buy...
Springs - i want std height...any exceptions to king springs? I spotted Eibach make ones to suit A70/A80's
shocks - i need something heavy duty...that eliminates most...
Bushes - ive heard the ployeureuthane (spelling) ones are ok from fulcrum..anyone confirm this?
thanks guys

AFAIK you can't get anything specifically for the MA61 locally, apart from complete crap like Pedders/Monroes.
If you want something decent you'll either have to source MA61 stuff from the US (from memory they can still get some good gear, eg Tokicos) or adapt locally-available Konis or Bilsteins to suit your car. I chose the latter option, Koni Sport adjustables up front and Bilsteins in the rear.
As for springs, custom wound is the way to go if you want decent spring rates (ie not Kings). Installing coilover sleeves on the front struts it pretty easy to do and not that expensive, and that will give you lots of flexibility - you can buy hundreds of spring rate/height combinations from multiple vendors.

norbie, id + rep you - but it says i have to spread it more before i do? Wtf?
A full set of SuperPro bushes will set you back about $250, plus fitting.
Most you can do yourself no hassles though.
Shocks - Tokico HP's from eBayUSA would be the minimum I'd get, thats abtou $400 delivered.
Next step up is about $800
Koni coil over sleeve kit will be $275 plus fitting plus springs.
Custom wound rear springs will be about $250
Custom sway bars are roughly $200 an end, if not a bit more.
Strut braces F+R are custom or one off.
Norbie might know prices.
Rear can be home made for about $50.
Front is a bit more pro.

Where do i get the super pro bushes from? Fulcrum? Thats a lot cheaper than i expected! i dont want to spend too much on the rear as im unsure what im gonna do with regards to diff back there. The koni shocks sound good, and ill just get some sort of springs. id like eibach, but ill have to see if they make them first.Originally Posted by CrUZida
i think you read that wrong:
-Tokico's are the shocks
-the Koni's are the kit to change to adjustable-heght coil-over springs
-the springs themselves are custom
otherwise you do what Norbie suggested - in a nutshell it involves:
-using an shock insert that's nearly the right length
-packing the gap with metal (or nylon, depending on school of thinking)
-get stiffer/shorter springs to cope with the slight shorter strut length (talk to wilbo about springs)
-get roll-centre adjusters ('cause you also then stuff with your ride height).
Ok i have my koni adjustable rears now, and my springs
Can someone tell me a Good strut insert for the front? This is the leakest wink atm..and is holding me up...
Apparently theres no such thing as a front koni....so where am i to look?
Have you tried reading your own thread?Originally Posted by Norbie

konis are not available in australia, but ive dug up a site called classic garage who has them in stock. solved.
who told you that? there is a koni distributor in victoria called Top Performance... where I got my koni coil over sleeves... and where i'll be getting my shocks.
i dont want coilovers as i have mentioned about 3 times already...im talking about strut inserts
.... and so am i, never said you had to get coilover sleeves![]()
