    Default safe 3tg boost pussure

I have a 3tg with forged pistons comp 7.2-1 and otherwise stock internals, microtec mtx-8, supra intcooler, 2.5 mandrel bent system. It runs around 120 RW KW on 10 psi. A little doughy I must say. Its a daily driver and i was whondering what sort of psi would be safe or should I say smart to run.

    standard turbo?

i would leave it where it is, if you want reliability from it

There is no doubt that the engine would be able to handle more boost without any hassles, however if you are using the car as a daily driver, and want it to be reliable, i wouldn't go much more than 10psi. Every time you up the boost, you are putting more and more stress on your engine, if you are just cruising around on the road then running high psi is wasteful of the longevity of your engine in a sense. You obviously have the ability to vary your boost levels so, if i was in your position, i would be content to leave it around 10, and if you want a spirited drive or to stretch the legs of the 3tg then you could up it to where you feel comfortable.

I had tried running around 13-14 the extra power was great but I was a little concerned about the engine's life. It is in a Hilux after all and not a race car

well with the comp ratio of the engine and the internals, i wouldnt worry bout 13 psi. you could run 20 if you had the fuel and turbo to match!

sounds like you got a strong engine. but i agree, its a waste of fuel and the like to run big boost on a daily driver.
