His website's pretty good, details most of the build up (last time I checked)

It's just a 3SGTE, standard 2L twin cam affair, it's the same fomula that you use on an SR20DET or FJ20ET, match right turbo with good manifolds, bulletproof internals cam profiles and engine management, and wind up the boost until she cannae take no more cap'n. You usually have to blow an engine or two in the testing process to reach 400hp+ with a 4 banger, but it's been done before on a number of silvias, and hell, the FQ400 Lancer proves that it can be done reliably.

I wouldn't mind sitting down with him and going over some ideas though =p

well i start work on the 18th, only doing a week i beleive, so that should give me the week of 26-31st off before i start the proper 2/1 roster. so hopefuly i should be able to be up in Perth the w/end of the 28/29th.

well, looks like it's sunday by a 11/4 majority, so now all we have to do is come up with an location.

Criteria:

Not too busy on a sunday

Available Shade

Good parking, within sight of the BBQ area

not too far out of the way.

Beach or hills is good, either way. Keep in mind we might be going for a small minicruise/hills run later on.

when i was living in Perth years ago i always liked Cottesloe beach on a warm sunny day cause it had .. umm.. good surf.
though getting a park there was nightmare by memory.


what is the law like now days in Perth? as long as no tosser carries on (eg. drives like a tosser) they leave you alone or do they like to make money for the x-mas beer fund?

Cotteslo on a sunday is a serious no-go zone, they have the busiest sunday session in WA there, and the place is always overfull with emo and punk rockers and their slaggy slaggy groupies. Also piggy central. Same as scarbourough. Trigg might be an option, but I can't remember if the carpark is big enough.

Small groups out for a BBQ won't attract any attention from the police, unless they're engaging in some spirited driving (eg Adsport on a patch of sand in Hillary's...)

a bit up from North Beach might be better... i remember theres a pretty big carpark there...

I used to live in North Beach, and there's not really much between it and Hillarys NORTH... but TRIGG is just south of it, and atm that's my pic, I just can't remember if the parking/bbq facilities are appropriate on a busy sunday. Looks like we'll be getting 20ish cars atm.

Port Beach in North Freo has a big car park and isn't too bad.

But sounds like you guys want something Northwards? What about City Beach too, from memory, there's a reasonable carpark there too?

City beach will probably be a bit busy. Port beach you say. I might go up on the weekend and take a look. Keep in mind it has to have BBQ facilities.

I've never had a BBQ at Port Beach, so not sure what BBQ facilities are there. But there may be some. In terms of car park, if the actual beach car park is full, there's also the wharf area just up the road as a backup.

Was a bit wet and windy there earlier in the year, but that was winter!
