im running HPR15. on my somewhere near run in motor. seems good so far. get little wisps of smoke when i blip the throttle so im blaming that on turbo seals, no way my engine is blowing smoke yet...i hope

ta-022 if you need help getting bearings to do a rebuild you can use mains from a 2s/3s motor and if you have an early motor it has 42mm big ends which means you can use 4K bearings, if not it has 44mm i think, and you would have to ask someone else what you can use for that.
the valve stem seals match a number of motors, 7M is a good pick, coz you get 24 in the pack
for rings you can use 4K ones.
anything else just let me know, but i thought that may be handy to a few guys

    cheers for that.

atm im waiting on a motor coming to me from melb so i dont have to rebuild.

as i want this going by nationals im going this route and in the following months ill slowly rebuild a bottom end then a head read for when and if she blows.

thanks brett ... sounds easier to me.

qwik q ... are fuel pump resistors ompatible on a 7m with 1G ... do i need one or are they a stock pump thing???

im not running a fuel pump resistor.

doesnt seem to have any adverse effects. although it could be why it 'pops' a little on idle (a little rich?)

no power gains to be had there anyway!

    just more complexity, wiring etc

when we're talking about identifying the engine, you say pale green, I see them as fluro green/yellow. but my ECU plugs are definatly grey. So whats the go?

Ok so who wants to help me. I'm modifying a GA70 Gen 3 1ggte to fit into my GX81 Chaser.
I'm having trouble Identifying the body loom wires on the Motor. Perhaps I'm reading diagram wrong or something.

So if someone could make things blatently obvious for me itd be great here are some photos.

And teh other question i have is can anyone I.D. this wire?
It comes down between gap in the inlet manifold. Its quite thick and is black with a blue stripe.

That last pic - got a mutlimeter handy? Find out where it ends up on the other end. I can't remember seeing it but then it was a while ago when I wired up my 1G. That and mine was a gen2.

The rest of the plugs should be easily identified - the wiring diagrams at the start of the thread should give you an idea, and along with a pin-out diagram you should have no trouble finding out what each pin does.

yeah, was wondering the same thing.
considering swapping my 7agte in my ae86 for a gen3 1ggte and wasnt shre how much weight difference there is.
i know the gearbox will be alot heavyier than the t50, but thats less of a problem as im more worryied about weight balance than overall weight increase. gerbox being pretty much in centre of wheel base wont affect the balance all that much anyway.

but i guess if you dont care how well it goes round corners i would do it

well its a track car, so yeah, its kinda important how it goes round corners!
i was going too movve it back as far as i can get it without chopping the firewall and ajust the suspesion to suite.
i get alot of mixed reactions though, some people recon they handel fine, some recon its terrible.
