Run in oil, more or less?

I remember using that for a painful 500km of nannying the car around

Magnatec is awfull horrid stuff... I have ben using it for years, it goes to shit after it has been in the car for five minutes. It is made of recycled oul, teh reason for teh oil presure drop is due to chemical instability, -the long chain polymers break down.

Full synth will apparently hold up better to higher heat (ie. turbos)

Going to do an oil change tomorrow...

    i use Penrite HPR 30 - 20W60 i think.

keeps the motor quiet (since if i use something thinner the motor gets noisier) and doesnt burn any oil . . . although that might be changing it seems

I wouldnt use anything lighter than 15w in a 1G unless its been rebuilt with smaller clearances
I find with the 3 1G's ive had anything under that is burnt quickly and seems to degrade to fast
BTW i change oil every 2500k max and most changes happen about the 1500km mark

My car barely uses any oil over the 5000km change intervals I do, always use a 10w40 oil. I'd say most of that as well is due to turbo seals or valve stem seals.
