    Default 2tg - 3tg into ke10/11 or ke70

    hey

wondering how hard it would be to get 2tg or 3tg into a ke10/11?

i was also wondering how hard it would be to get one of these motors into a ke70?

would it be cheaper/easier for a 4age coversion instead?

i have done a bit of searching but im sure that some of you could help me out with at least some links that relate to this.

I would say it would be easier to pop the 4A in...since you can get AE7x crossmembers and all will bolt up nicely. As for expensive, that depends on the motor. The 2T/3T engines might be cheaper than a 4A, but custom parts etc to fit it all in and make it work may run the price up...as opposed to a 4A, which might be more expensive for the engine, but the parts needed to install it are all there from factory (AE7x).

    KE70, AE7x, TE7x
main difference is the TE doesn't have rack and pinion. convert a T cross-member to R&P or a KE xmember to T mounts (latter is easier )

into KE10, is possible, has been done, but you may have steering/bellhousing /shift fork/slave cylinder issues.
you will need to do a few things, but it will fit.

Both are quite do-able, but if i was choosing for a cost effective road car my choice would be the 2TG into the KE70, sure the car is a bit fatter than the KE10 but it will be a much more comfy car as a everyday beast and wills till be quite nippy.

    Ive got experience with both, i own a 3TC powered KE15 (was originally a 2TG) and a 2TG powered AE71.

The 2TG in the KE15 has a few problems, not much clearance for the intake. Mine has a booster so even with 40mm trumpets it was hitting the booster. The transtunnel had to be massaged to suit the T50. The steering arms hit the bell housing though with this setup. The best way would be to recess the motor into the firewall about 2cm so the steering arms dont hit the bellhousing. I didnt perform the original conversion as i bought it with the 2TG installed, i have since thrown a 3TC in there i had laying around just to keep it moving so ive seen how everything was done. IT also has custom throttle pedal, and pedal box for the brake booster (not needed, was done by the previous owner). It has custom welded mounts and to keep the clutched fan the previous owner cut up the radiator support and put the radiator on the front of it rather than behind it. Some photos of mine are located here:

As for the Ae71, i used T-18 clutch lines and slave cyl, with the AE71 master cyl on a T-18 gearbox. (ae71 one can be used with the right bellhousing but T motor bellhousings have the slave on the drivers side) I am using an Ae71 cross member with T series mounts welded on, pics of the whole conversion are located here

For cost effectiveness, 2TG Ae71 is the go if you can do all the work your self, but your better off going to a 4a motor

The reason why i did it, was i bought a body for 100$ with no engine. And i had a 2TG sitting there unloved

The T18 is just a TE72 with a different name.

^^^ What he said, and every local pickapart wrecker ive been too allways has atleast 1 T-18 out the back. But as previously mentioned they dont use R&P so you need to do some cutting and shutting of mounts.

The other idea would be to find a T-18 and just throw a 2TG in that, very easy conversion
