    Default 4agte limits

I have recently turbo'd my afm bigport 4agze using a TD04. At this point I'm unsure what boost level i can safely run. I am using the factory 4agze injectors, fuel pump & ecu, the engine is also internally stock. I have been running it at 15psi for a week or so and had it at 17psi for a couple of drives. Does anyone know what the limits of the individual components are, ie, injectors, fuel pump, ecu & the internally stock engine.

    Any help is greatly appreciated

15psi is fine, so is 17psi depending on your setup.

sounds promising. by "depending on setup" do you mean the cooling system? i'm running a Trust front mount which is roughly 450mm x 300mm x 60mm.

The main thing that i am worried about is the A/F ratios running a little lean when the boost gets high. I have it booked in on a dyno in about 3 weeks time so i will confirm then.

Yeah wouldn't push it past 17 without better injectors management & fuel pump, the engine can cop a fair bit more with the other bits improved. You also need to consider turbo efficiency, what 'cooler are you using?

AFM ECUs have been known to cope ok with that sort of boost in regards to A/F ratios, but obviously better to check it all on a dyno. I'd keep it at 15 till you know it's safe.
That 'cooler sounds like it'll do the job.

also, what can the stock internals handle when the ecu and fuel system are sorted out? i have heard of examples running 25psi but can't really confirm that.

I've run 25psi with stock internals, although that's new stock pistons & shot peened stock rods & new bearings etc, only non stock internal parts were valve springs. Made 180rwkW. Oooh, that's with a metal HG too.

the gze run rich on the stock ecu. It it always a good idea to give it a run on the rollers to see were the ratios are so you can be safe.
From experiance it is fine but it always pays to check.

    good info guys.

cam : like mick says it is best to put it on a dyno to make sure its safe fuel /timing wise etc.

just for the record 283 rwkw can be made on std internals if you try !!
Cams will be struggling to let in enough air at this level but it is possible !

Holy shite! Yeah that's with a fuck-off sized turbo though! Lol!

So is that an unopened motor? Std HG & springs etc? And let me guess, 30psi???

Best for response, best for top end, or best compromise between the two?

nah its not an un opened motor but does consist of a std bottom end. except arp bolts i guess.
