but for Q2. I assume you are taking the fluid out to inspect it, so you might as well change it for new stuff![]()
Hi all,
I have been doing my own maintenance/service on my 2002 ZZE122R Corrola. I am currently doing 80,000km more or less 'by the toyota book'. I have 2 questions:
1. Fuel filter. It wants me to replace it. I think it is in the tank and I found out it is a toyota only part. Is this necessary?
2. Auto trans Fluid, It wants me to inspect/replace. Levels are OK, should I bother replacing the trans fluid?
I would really appreciate any help from out there.
Thanks

yes replace the fuel filter. Im 99% sure an aftermarket fuel filter is available. I too have not done it as my wife corolla has 20,000km on it. I wount be waiting til 80,000 to do mine thou, i will do it at 40,000
It would not hurt to have the tranny serviced
if the transmission is shifting ok just drop the fluid out of it and put new trans fluid in it. it certainly can't hurt it.

You will have fun guys ,it a plastic filter and the efi pump and presure reg all mount to it , you have to unclip a few things first . under the back seat too.

Thanks all,
I have the service manual on CD that explains how to replace the fuel filter. I think I will have to go to Toyota for the parts as I have tried a few auto parts stores.
