All the ones i've pulled apart (plenty) with regular nuts have the big flat washer
And all the flanged nuts don't.
Seems toyota changed to cut costs and speed up production time, like the toyota way.
started off with
Washer, nut, star shaped retainer, split pin
Flanged nut, star shaped retainer, split pin
Flanged nut castled, split pin
And on the latest stuff it's a flanged nut and the driveshaft has a chunk missing that you beat the edge of the nut into.
I'm sure a CV place would throw some at you, or visit your local friendly toyota wrecker and ask if you can scrounge through the tubs of nuts and bolts. The washer/flange spreads the load over a greater area.
