I agree with the extra info you suggested, but my comment was intended for the whole 2.2ltr job, being, crankshaft machining and new rods.
If it's just a 92mm bore go for it, as u said price on difference in pistons are minimal.
Oh, as far as compression 10.5 - 11 would be the safest, when decking, i would think.
BTW great info guys, i may just rebuild my engine, again....

    Yeah, but you're a nutter!

OK, sounds like either 10.5 or 11 is fine. gunna have to call the machine shop tomorrow and hope they haven't started with the original slugs.

Thanks Adam, I'll ask for HG as well.

He said he can do either arias or wiseco. I've got no experience with either... but i'm leaning toward arias because a few ppl on here have had good experiences with them. Any other opinions?

Adam, no prizes for guessing where this motor is going

Was going to get it back assembled from the machinist early next week... hoping to have it running by next weekend. New pistons will kill that plan!

So, I present, for lazy people (like me)...

The one stop shop (post) for 18RG ARP fastener info!

Rod bolts: Use [203-6002] - same as 22R and 3SGTE
Flywheel bolts: Use [203-2802] - same as 4AG, and you get 2 extra to lose!
Main studs: Use [203-5402] - from a 7M-GE, and you'll get 2 spare that aren't able to be used
Head stud option #1: [???-????] Shortened 22R - Rumour to be confirmed
Head stud option #2: [207-4202] From a Mitsubishi 2600cc Astron, need to mill down head posts by ~19mm - Suggested by YelloRolla (see stidnam's 2TG mod in the pic below)
Head stud option #3: [???-????] From an Escort (flipped upside down to match threads - suggested by UnderPresha)
Head stud option #4: [???-????] Custom made ARP studs that are floating around in limited numbers (group buy was organised by YelloRolla)

If I need to correct or update, please let me know.

I installed the astron head studs. Milled circa 20mm off the head. 19 would have worked. I also used 22r flywheel and bolts, but it was plenty more effort than just using 4ag bolts. Otherwise used the above main and rod fasteners. All went together like a glove.

Here's a 2TG head I did to fit the Astron ARP headstuds. Same principle applies for the 18RG. Posts milled down 19 or 20mm

    Default 18RG bumpsticks

Does anyone or anywhere tell me the camshaft profile specifications (duration, lift, c/line, timing etc) for all 18rg standard bumpy sticks??

Don't want to duplicate effort and cost if someone has it already.

Why: I think I have a pair of all 18rg cam types from 210 to 270 and could get my local cam shop to run them through his machine so we can all see what they are...

    All those in favour?

Would be interesting to note. Not sure if any would be a great match to having a hairdryer hanging off the side though...
