Can someone please tell me how gripy the dragstrip at dubbo was compared to say WSID or a newly resealed road? Unfortunately I didn't have time to run it last year (was busy in the booth writing everyone's times down). Did anyone use semi slicks, particularly the guys running lower than 8.50 down the 1/8th?

I ran Mickey Thompson ET Street Radials, and some other guys ran full slicks also.

They will be a benefit, although don't expect the same level of grip that you get at WSID, this track is not prepped with VHT track-bite for the event or anything. There's plenty of old rubber down, but that's all from what I recall.

Buy an awd they love the lack fo grip on the dubbo surface.

yeah that R32 GTR slaughtered the strip last year.

Last time I went to the wizzard (2 years ago, when just recently bought the GT-P), there must of been no track prep for the wednesday off street drags (a few guys have said they often use off street drags to lay down rubber to prep for friday doorslammers). As my car was literally fishtailing 1 and 2nd gear, i was getting 2.5s 60fter's . All tho it is pretty hard to launch a 2 tonne car with pretty old tyres on it. I was shocked at how slippery the grip level was compared to an average road. Hopefully these newish Federal 595 evo's should suffice @ 25-30psi. Happy if i'm under 8.50 down the 8th on 'street' tyres, while beating the HSV's that were their last year .

Yes that GT-R annihilated the field last year, some supras (particularly a maron 3rd gen) were pretty dam fast when they hooked up. Also that 600hp lexus has me thinking twice about next time a pull up next to a relatively unassuming jap sedan.

A little birdy tells me a supposedly 800-1000hp R34 GT-R is coming to play in the khana/ drags if it gets thru customs in time.... if not you'll probably see a new Golf R instead.
