Default Just one notification is enough

On the old forums we used to get just one notification no matter how many posts were made in a thread we are subscribed to. You would then get another notification once you visited that thread.
On this forum I am getting notification of every new post Can I changed this somehow??

That's odd behaviour. It's supposed to act the same as the old forums. Well it does for me at least!

I cop it too I got like 80 emails yesterday so I just went in and unsubscribed from all the threads (more than likely I'll read them on the forums any how).

I don't seem to get notification for *all* of them, more like half? it's weird, but I definitly get more than 1 e-mail per thread.

    Garr... Well that sux.

Not sure what could be causing this. So if you guys don't visit the forums at all (ie: no interaction with it), do you receive multiple emails on a thread?
I'm thinking it could be something like marking a forum as Read or something weird like that.

ummmmm... nfi. I can test it for you today if you like (although making it through work with no toymods could be a stretch )

This is a typical VB Forums thing.
Happens on every VB Forums I'm on.

You will received ONE notification per thread in the first instance.
As soon as VB Forums detect you visiting this forum again, you will receive ANOTHER notification (at the next post) REGARDLESS of whether you visited that thread or not.

If you visit the forums some time later, once again, you will receive ANOTHER notification.

This is especially annoying to people who don't have access to their email at work, but they do have access to the forums.
Say they just jump on the forums every hour or so, to check one thread, or even their PM's, they will have multiple email notifications in their inbox when they go to check it at home.

Thus far, I've never received 2 emails for the same thread in a period where I hadn't visited the forums.

yep, it looks as tho every time you visit the forum it sends you out notifications on all your threads again next time they're posted in.

Yep, it's done it to me without even signing in for a week or so. Most e-mails I've ever received in one go!!

In the usercp options, I change the

"Default Thread Subscription Mode" to "No email notifications" and I still get plenty of emails.
    :/

Have you unsubscribed to all your subscribed threads?

I have the same issue as myne, i want to subscribe to threads i have posted in, but don't want the emails.

i checked "no email notification" and still get emails, do you have to unsubscrbe to all of the threads you have posted in? would rather not lose the log and little thread arrows..

The thread arrows should still stay there if you turn off email notification and unsubscribe. The log will not though.

yeah i just unsubscribed from all the posts i was subscribed to didn't lose any arrows.

none of the ones i wanted to subscribe to were in the list anyway so its all good.

time to clean out my poor inbox and see if it worked.
