I've searched "reputation" in the FAQ and had a thorough look at user CP but for the life of me can't figure out how you tell which post you received reputation points on. It tells me that ppl are able to leave comments, but how do you know if they did?

i would like to know this too... not for the sake of vandettas against people that give me -ve rep, but more to see who appreciated my contribution... at the end of the day im not too fussed bout this but it would be nice to see, or even if an email was sent advising feedback given/rep level changed sort of thing
anyway something to consider for the future...
cheers
If you have a look down in this forum there was a post on it in about October when the forum opened up.
Basically from memory it said that once you become a Power User (or similar name) you can see the rep votes. Either that or buy club membership and you get an avatar and see rep votes among some other cool stuff.
On the front page of your User CP you will see "Latest Reputation Received"! In there you will see whichh thread you received your rep point for!Originally Posted by whatthe?
Yeah, but you dont get to see who left it or their comments.
True, but that wasn't the question!Originally Posted by takai
Yes you do, in the user CP section, it has the person name and the comment then you click on it and it takes you to the postOriginally Posted by takai

cool - i never noticed it before :/
like was mentioned before in other threads, this new forum is just gonna take some getting used to - but i like this way
the other thing i like is that when you look at a thread ytou can see somewhat related threads at the bottom of the screen - but thats a bit off topic for what this threads for
cheers
The reason why you don't get to see who gave rep to begin with is that we do not want people abusing the system to either try and get back at someone or try and bump up the reps of people who give them rep. Once you've got enough rep to promote to the more privelleged user group we expect you've proven yourself to not partake in that kind of behaviour.
It's like all the other things that have been implemented for the new forum basically the aim is to have people act more responsably with a minimum of moderation, since if you moderate you get acused of being a Nazi.

on rep notes i seem to have recieved a rep but my rep hasn't changed. it states that a nutral rep was given???? how does this work?
the person hasn't made ten posts yet more than likely so there rep is worth nothing, just a good or bad comment, but no one else can read it.
lol yeah there is no comment just a blank neutral vote...
i have a few of those...
hey anyone else wanna have a shot?
