i used 4 inch and 6" with spacers on the front.
I didnt cut any of the box, just the 4 screws on each.
Its a good idea to get some deadener and stick it on the inside of the car behind the speaker. it does help with sound quality.

well, when i say no mods, i mean i drilled through the speaker part on the box. so all you see is the 4 screws from the outside.
