the factory catch can is more accurately described as an "oil-air separator".....
i think with some added pics and cleaned up info this will be up in the FAQ
mods please put this in the FAQ
GEN 3 differences from gen 2 3sgte
Or refer to the tread for more details etc.
http://www.toymods.net/forums/showth...?t=2423&page=4

- Fuel cut raised from 12 psi to 18 psi
- Different ECU
- 4 wire O2 sensor
- Shim under bucket valve shims
- slightly more aggressive cams

- Revised gearbox with close ratio gearing
- lower compression ratio
- stainless steel head gasket
- factory 540cc injectors replace 430cc injectors
- revised fuel rail with bigger bore and relocated pressure regulator
- TVIS eliminated
- EGR eliminated
- LSD in 80% of them
- throttle body increased from 55mm to 60mm

...... butt scratcher?!
Also:
Gen 2 head flows a LOT worse than the gen3, due to terrible ports
Gen 3 'MAY' have an extra tooth on the oil pump.
Thanks to Tristan Hewitt for this info (if I've translated the barrage of information rightly)
RM.
The Gen3 oil pump has one less tooth on the drive gear. This means the pump turns at a higher speed in relation to crank speed moving more oil.
Does the Gen 1 3sgte have any advantages?
its original and therefore the best
Hahah If only it works like that.
A suggestion, could you please remove all the references to the auxilary systems? and just concentrate on the engine?
An excellent site comparing generation of engines

ok guys, here are some pics that hopefully help out with this FAQ. if anyone wants some larger pics or measurements let me know and i'll grab them, it may be awhile to i use them hehe.
these are all parts off an ST205 Gen3 3S-GTE, the same one that Cool1 is using
mods, if you want to put this in the faq up top, would it be possible to get the images loaded on the toymods server itself as i dont have that much space. cheers
now for the pics, enjoy
