    Advice needed. I have a t3 turbo now sitting on my garage floor.

    Install the new t3 or rebuild the ct20b?

    Steeko,

    Why not go the same route as NME308 with a SR20 manifold and adapter plate and strap on a sr20 T28? I think NME308 has well proven the approach.

    Are you after something with both faces completely covered in S.S. or just after S.S. around the port? or a solid S.S. gasket?

    solid s.s. as im getting sick of having to keep replacing my exhaust manifold gasket no fun haveing to take everthing off all the time that means less time drive more time fixing i want it the other way round more time enjoying driving me car not fixing it. a friend sugested that i use what holden and ford use witch is stainless gasket but get it cut for a 3t-gte. or unless there is something avalable.

    I have never seen the genuine Toyota Gasket fail unless the manifold or head surface is warped. The aftermarket ones are shit tho.

    it could be that i got a bad batch as i got them from a swap meet 4 for $10. ill get the manifold tested to see if it is warped but still i need a gasket again.

    Hey gt-t if the faces are straight I simply use silicon. If the faces are a bit warped I give the silicon 24hrs to dry before firing up...

    Most of the oem exhaust manifolds ive measured seem to warp away from the head on #1 port.
    I don't see how silicon would last too long? might survive on the head flange if it's high temp stuff, but not on the turbo side.

    Hi Steeko,
    Since I am currently running an SR20 topmount ebay stainless manifold and previously a factory cast SR20 manifold on my 3T I'll jump in!

    Port spacing is 'almost' identical between the SR20 and the 3T motors.
    The outside two holes on an SR20 manifold line up with the Toyota positions.
    A factory SR20 lowmount manifold fouls the engine mount and possibly the starter so flipping it for topmount is best.
    Either aftermarket topmount stainless or flipped factory SR20 manifold it is best to make a spacer/adapter plate due to larger port diameter of the SR20 item.
    It took me say 3 hours to make the adapter plate from 12mm mild steel with hand drill, die grinder, and thread tap (only for flipped factory mani).
    When mounting the stainless manifold I drilled and slotted the head flange to use the toyota pattern. SR20 uses 2 bolts per runner while toyota shares some.
