Depends which housing you're talking about. If you mean an IRS housing, then yes it will go in with no modifications provided you use the right bearings. I have one in an RA65 Celica housing which was originally non-LSD.

We put MA61 LSDs in live F series centres with no issues. I haven't played with a true trac into F series live centre but I'd imagine should be OK.

I'd have a search around - I'm sure someone did it.

ive been pointed to this thread so i'll add my bit
G series (hilux) have a different crown wheel flange 4.77 and lower campared to 4.55 and taller ratios. is was told this by our diff shop at the time when i had a mx83 G315 fitted to a broken hilux G285.
i've never seen any variation in axle size or crown flange in the F series so i'd be very interested in knowing (pics/measurements please) if there is
to date i've sat the altezza torsen in a live axle head and the torsen carrier seemed to ever so slightly touch the end of the pinion gear. this due to a fatter lsd carrier maybe or that the side bearing shells weren't held tight to the bearings... dunno would have to complete the conversion. could we assume the altezza pinion gear to be a little shorter than the normal F series? dunno
on the other hand i've successfully fitted a Kaaz altezza 2way in the F series live axle head. only issue i thought i had was the bolts holding crown wheel were not as recessed as much like the std F crown.. so the bolt heads stuck out more and when i sat it in the carrier looked like they'd touch the housing. i ground the corner out of the housing but when all fitted together.. found it probably wouldn't have touched anyway.

this is a factory live axle F lsd from jdm cr30 masterace-surf 4wd van, the irs ma61/ta63/tt142 look exactly the same

this is the altezza Kaaz fitted

    altezza torsen

and when he gets round to it... a cusco altezza lsd about to be fitted into live axle

oh and TRD list the same TRD lsd for ma61, mz11, gx71, ta63, crown etc as the altezza
where i first twigged that altezza used a 7.5" diff
    http://trdparts.jp/english/parts_lsd_mechanical.html

toyota lsd often require a shorter axle (T series, F series and G series)

I can confirm that a true trac fits into the live axle MX13 F-series. They even use the same carrier bearings confirmed both by CBC bearings and seeing as i used the bearings Rabid-chimp sent me to suit an MA61.

Do you mean the one that has a big square bit missing from where the lift back should be?

SA63 or RA63 would be that one.

RA63/RA65 is the one, SA63 run t-series IRS not f-series.
    If in doubt power out
