why not get a 7mgte manifold and use a ct26?
anyone have experiences, likes, dislikes, recommendations???
i'm looking to boost the 5mge... i will make up a manifold to use the different flange associated with a k26 or k27 model.
how much power is the 5mge to hold stock? i will use a MHG and studs but otherwise will be stock. i'm not looking for huge power...225hp range... ~10psi. which size wastegate is recommended?
thanks in advance.

after something a bit more unique...
there doesn't seem to be such a worry about the blades shattering either if i wanted to turn it up. KKK's are stock on most german cars = high output engines. the k27 is rated for something like 450HP. i'll never reach that with the 5mge. i just want something to hit low 200's.. looking for a little pep without spending the money on a full swap. 5mge's are also abundant in the wreckers for pennies to the dollar
yeah im aware of the abundance of 5mges at wreckers
I have a k03 at home, pulled it apart to smarten myself on how turbos work. Seem well made. However i've never heard of a ct26 that had a problem with blades shattering
k27 should be fine for the application. Just base any rough estimates on power/response from what engine the turbo came from.
not worried about lag with a turboi rated to more than double the engine?Originally Posted by sticky667
or using the turbo to only half it's potential?
why not get one that matches your desired output?

ct26 pushing 10psi should net around 200 provided the motor isn't shagged.
well i think the k26 is a little more suited...seems to be roughly half the size of the k27...
i realize the ct26 is widely used and the 'right' match for my intentions. i'm just stuck on the kkk's.
the only reason im pressing on the ct26 is the simplicity of install.. a bolt on manifold is easily obtainable which means you don't have to make one ... but hey, i can understand people who want to do things differently
how difficult would a kkk flange fix up to a 7m manifold if i cut off the ct26 flange?
depends how hard you think welding onto cast iron is... easy way to do it is just make an adaptor plate.
anyone ever used ssautochrome.com manifolds?? they are relatively cheap and seem to be pretty good construction. sus304 stainless..tig welded.
random bit of info, KKK make blitzs turbos
KKK don't make Blitz turbos. Blitz use KKK turbos as a base turbo then use their own custom settings from there. KKK is to blitz as Garrett is to HKS.
so whats the difference?
made by KKK, has KKK on the housings....
you mean made by KKK to blitzs requested specs
